HYDERABAD: In a sinister plot borrowed from a crime thriller, a woman murdered her husband and nearly swapped him with her paramour through plastic surgery but it was a bowl of mutton soup which spilled the beans.

Police in Telangana revealed the shocking facts unearthed during the investigations of the chilling crime in Nagarkurnool town.

M. Swati, a 27-year-old nurse at a private hospital in the town, was married to Sudhakar Reddy for three years and they also had a child. However, she came close to Rajesh, a physiotherapist. They hatched a plan to get rid of Mr Reddy.

They executed the plan successfully by injecting anaesthesia to Mr Reddy early on November 27 and when he fell unconscious, hit him on his head resulting in his death. They later dumped and burnt the body in the forests.

To ensure that nobody gets suspicious about Mr Reddy’s disappearance, Swati hatched a plan to swap her dead husband with Rajesh by making some changes in his physical appearance through plastic surgery.

As part of their plan, she poured a small amount of acid on Rajesh’s face and informed Mr Reddy’s relatives that unknown persons had attacked him.

Mr ‘Reddy’ was rushed to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad, where doctors advised plastic surgery. The treatment had started and when it looked Swati and Rajesh would succeed in their plan, the story took a dramatic turn.

Mr Reddy’s relatives got suspicious when he refused to have mutton soup served to patients with burn injuries. They were shocked when he told the hospital staff that he is a vegetarian, since the real Mr Reddy was a non-vegetarian.

According to a police officer involved in the investigations, Mr Reddy’s relatives grew suspicious on noticing change in his behaviour. When they started asking him some questions including the identity of some relatives, he stopped speaking and was conversing with signs.

Mr Reddy’s family members alerted police. When the police grilled Swati, she confessed to killing her husband with the help of Rajesh.

Police arrested Swati on Sunday. She also confessed that she was inspired by Telugu movie “Yevadu” starring Ram Charan Teja and Allu Arjun. The story of this 2014 movie was about a youth (Alu Arjun) who gets injured and a lady plastic surgeon gives him the face of her deceased son (Ram Charan).

A police officer said Rajesh will be taken into custody after discharge from the hospital

A woman’s plan to switch her paramour for her husband might have worked longer if not for a bowl of mutton soup.

In a sinister plot straight out of a crime thriller, a woman murdered her husband and nearly succeeded in passing off her paramour as her spouse but was foiled by a bowl of mutton soup.

Telangana police on Sunday arrested M Swati, a 27-year-old nurse at a private hospital, in Nagarkurnool town after she confessed to murdering her husband Sudhakar Reddy with the help of Rajesh, her paramour.

Swati and Sudhakar were married three years and have a child. But she became close to Rajesh, a physiotherapist, with whom she hatched the murder plan.

The couple knocked Sudhakar unconscious with anaesthesia early on November 27, and then killed him by bludgeoning his head. They later dumped and burned Sudhakar’s body in a forest.

This was not all. To cover up Sudhakar’s disappearance, Rajesh’s face was disfigured with acid and brought to the hospital for a plastic surgery. Swati told her husband’s family that some unknown people had attacked him, passing off Rajesh as Sudhakar.

However, relatives became suspicious when ‘Sudhakar’ refused to have the mutton soup being served to patients. They got even more suspicious when he told hospital staff that he is a vegetarian; the real Sudhakar was a non-vegetarian.

According to a police officer involved in the investigations, the Reddy family noticed the difference in behaviour. When they started asking him questions about relatives, Rajesh, who they thought was Sudhakar, stopped speaking and communicated in signs.

Suspecting something amiss, the family alerted police. Upon being grilled, Swati confessed and told police she got the idea for the identity swap from the 2014 Telugu movie ‘Yevadu’, in which a plastic surgeon gives an injured youth the face of her deceased son.

Police said Rajesh will be taken into custody after being discharged from the hospital.

Man impersonates lover’s husband

HYDERABAD, DHNS 15.12.2017 : In an incident straight out of John Travolta-Nicolas Cage starrer Face/Off, a man from Hyderabad killed his lover’s husband and then tried to impersonate him with help of plastic surgery.

A Rajesh and Swathi, wife of Sudhakar Reddy, a businessman, gave Reddy a sedative and smashed his head with a rod.

They then took the body to a far off location and burnt it.

After returning home, Swathi dipped her scarf in petrol, lit it and placed it on Rajesh’s face to burn it.

When the plan failed, Rajesh placed his face on the burner of the LPG stove.

Swathi then convinced everyone that miscreants threw acid on Reddy’s face and admitted Rajesh to Apollo DRDO hospital under Reddy’s name.

They had already struck a deal with a plastic surgeon in Sangareddy to reconstruct Rajesh’s face like Reddy’s for Rs 8 lakh.

Their plan, however, failed after Reddy’s mother and brother realised that it was not Reddy who was admitted to the hospital after Rajesh, a vegetarian, refused to drink mutton soup, Reddy’s favourite.

Reddy’s family then filed a police complaint. The cops took Rajesh’s fingerprints and compared with that of Reddy’s using Aadhaar.

Later during separate interrogations, Swathi and Rajesh revealed the truth.

The police found a few bones and Reddy’s skull at the site where his body was burnt.

After he was discharged, Rajesh told the media that Swathi was not happy with Sudhakar.

“So she became close to me. I initially proposed to elope, but Swati was not ready to leave her two children,” Rajesh said.

Investigation officer Srinivas Rao said Rajesh, who has been arrested along with Swati, will be produced before the court in a day.

A woman in Telangana planned the perfect crime inspired by Ram Charan Teja’s movie Yevadu but a mutton soup exposed her.

The woman, identified as Swathi Reddy, along with her lover, Rajesh, killed her husband. Rajesh’s face was later disfigured with acid so that he could get her husband’s face with the help of plastic surgery.

Swathi, who hails from Nagarkurnool district in Telangana, was married to Sudhakar Reddy and had a child with him, but she fell in love with Rajesh, a physiotherapist. They hatched a plan to kill Sudhakar so that they could live together.

On November 27, Swathi and Rajesh killed Sudhakar and burned his body in the forest. She also planned to introduce Rajesh as her husband with the help of plastic surgery.

Swathi poured acid on Rajesh’s face him and informed Sudhakar’s family that unidentified persons attacked him and disfigured his face. She then rushed her lover to a corporate hospital in Hyderabad where he underwent surgery.

Just when Swathi and her lover thought that they had succeeded in their plan, things took a dramatic turn. During one of the hospital visits, Sudhakar’s parents realised that the man claiming to be their son is actually not their son.

They got suspicious when “Sudhakar” refused to drink mutton soup. When he was hospitalised, he was served mutton soup, but he refused to have it claiming that he was vegetarian. The relatives were shocked to hear that because Sudhakar was a non-vegetarian.

During interrogation, Swathi confessed to killing her husband and revealed her plans to get a surgery done on Rajesh. It was also revealed that Swathi and Rajesh had an affair for over two years.

Swathi is now in police custody, while Rajesh will be interrogated after he is discharged from the hospital.

Swathi also revealed that she got the plastic surgery inspiration from popular Telugu movie Yevadu, which was released in 2014. The movie, starring Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Shruti Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal, is about a youth (Allu Arjun) who suffers injuries when a don tries to kill him. He is saved by a plastic surgeon, who gives him the face of her deceased son (Ram Charan).
