Delhi man kills wife and baby in front of sons
A Delhi based man allegedly killed his wife and 18-month-old son in front of his two other sons in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area, said police.
According to the police, the woman, Sunita, 30 and her infant son were attacked with a blunt object multiple times by Om Prakash Kumar, the husband in front of the couple’s two other minor sons.

Police said that the man killed the two after he suspected his wife’s faithfulness and doubted whether the youngest son was his child.
No arrests have been made so far, as the husband is absconding. After committing the crime, he spent the night with the corpses and his other two sons at his home before leaving his residence on Tuesday morning.

The two minor sons were awake when the father hit the toddler with a hammer and their baby brother bled to death. A police official said the suspect didn’t harm his other two sons.
The officer said, “The six-year-old boy told us that he was afraid, turned his head, and fell asleep. The other child is too young to describe what happened.”

After the incident came to light, the woman’s family suspected the involvement of the husband’s family. Kumar and Shobha have married 13 years ago and the couple kept quarreling often, said police.
Deputy commissioner of police (northwest) Aslam Khan said that earlier in 2010, the woman had filed a case of domestic violence and dowry harassment against the husband.

A woman was allegedly abducted along with her family members and gang raped by relatives of her son’s lover in Uttar Pradesh, police said.
The incident took place in Shamli and a case of abduction and gang rape was registered, Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma told reporters.
According to the SP, the 26-yearold man from Bhopura allegedly fell in love with a 24-year-old woman, who hailed from a village in Muzaffarnagar, and they eloped on November 20.
As revenge, her family members abducted the man’s brother, mother, father and his brother-in- law on December 19 and confined them in a house in Shamli district.
They were threatened, assaulted, and the mother was gang raped by the accused. On December 25, acting on a tip- off, the police raided the house and rescued them, the official said.
The girl’s father, his two brothers, including a former village gram pradhan, and his son were booked by the police, he said. The former gram pradhan was arrested while the other accused are on the run, the official said.

A woman was allegedly abducted along with her family members and gang-raped by relatives of another woman who eloped with her son in Uttar Pradesh, police said on Saturday.
The incident took place in Nojal village in Shamli district and a case of gang rape was registered on Friday, superintendent of police Ajay Pal Sharma told reporters in Muzaffarnagar.
According to the SP, the 26-year-old son allegedly fell in love with a 24-year-old woman, who hailed from a village in Muzaffarnagar and was studying in Ghaziabad.
The man was a resident of Bhopura village in Ghaziabad and he eloped with her on November 20.
As revenge, her family members abducted the man’s brother, mother who is in her 40s, father and his brother-in- law on December 19 and confined them in a house in Shamli district.
They were threatened and assaulted by the accused who also gang-raped the mother. On December 25, acting on a tip- off, police raided the house and rescued them, the official said.
A case of abduction was registered and police after investigation registered a case of gang-rape.
The girl’s father, his two brothers, including a former village gram pradhan, and his son were booked by police, he said.
The former gram pradhan was arrested while the other accused are on the run, the official said.

A special court in Kerala on Monday awarded capital punishment to a man for the rape and murder of a 4-yearold girl. The 31-year-old Rejith, who was sentenced to death, had tried to commit suicide on January 12, following which the pronouncement of sentence was put off for Monday.
Further, the special court under the provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act awarded double-life sentence to the victim’s mother, Rani and her another boyfriend, Basil. A fine of Rs 75,000 was also imposed on them.
The court had earlier convicted the three persons for the murder of a four-year-old girl at Chottanikkara in 2013. According to the prosecution, on October 29, 2013, Rejith attacked the LKG student and killed her. Rani approached the Chottanikkara police saying her daughter went missing. Following inconsistencies in her statement, the police subsequently found that the girl was killed by Rejith and his friend Basil and they buried the body at a work site at Arakkunnam.
Rani, who was divorced from her husband, was living with Basil. She had an affair with Rejith.

Man kills son over property dispute

AMRITSAR: A man shot his son at Abdal village near Majitha in Amritsar district following a domestic dispute on Sunday evening. Kathunangal station house officer (SHO) Harjit Singh said that Sukhdev Singh, an ex-servicemen who worked as a bank guard, shot his son Satnam Singh, who worked in the police department.
Giving details, the SHO said that there was some domestic dispute in the family due to which the father and son often had tiff over property distribution. “Satnam returned home late on Sunday evening from work and got into a verbal duel with his father. In a fit of anger Sukhdev first thrashed him and later shot him,” he said. Satnam Singh was the only son of Sukhdev.
The SHO added that police had registered a case and recorded the statement of family members, adding that Sukhdev had fled after killing his son.

The accused Narsimha Rao killed his daughter, Navyasree and mother-in-law, Lakshmi owing to family disputes. In another incident at Thangadapally of Choutuppal in Yadadri, villagers beaten up an old man Chitrala Malaiah and his grandson,Suresh accusing them of sorcery. After receiving information, police rushed to the village and brought the situation under control besides taking the duo into custody.
